FAQ on HF-B8G

Here are some of the most FAQs on HF-B8G

Is it provided with a calibration certificate?

Yes this meter comes with the calibration certificate, as listed under product features.

Where is this made? Does it come with a warranty?

The LATNEX HF-B8G is made in Taiwan. All our meters comes with a one year warranty.

Is this unit capable to read hybrid cars radiation, I mean to locate radiation sources that are hazardous to people driving the car?

The HF-B8G only measures high frequency/radio frequency fields. It will be able to measure any wireless frequencies emitted by the car, such as Bluetooth, but it will not measure electromagnetic radiation emitted by the car battery.

Will this detect the new 5G cell phones and transmitters?

Most mobile phone operators use a frequency band around 3.5 GHz for 5G and since the HF-B8G meter covers a range from 10 MHz to 8.0 GHz it is capable of detecting new 5G phones and transmitters.

Can this meter save a measurement with time/date stamp, for documentation?

The LATNEX HF-B8G has a datalogger, so you can save measurements with the time/date stamps. Just make sure to set the time and date first.

I don't see a mg (milligauss) reading for EMF; some meters display in these units. is there a conversion from mv/m to mg or someway to relate the two?

The HF-B8G is RF meter. The unit mg is only referring to a low frequency meters, such as MG-300

Is there a cable that can be used between the base unit and the antennae head?

The cable inside should be an optical fiber cable to make it possible therefore, the sensor black ball will be super long. The reason for why it needs to be an optical fiber cable is because using fiber materials will make the signals not rebound.

What does the HF-B8G measure?

The HF-B8G is a professional high frequency and RF meter. It is ideal for RF power measurement for transmitters, high frequency (RF) electromagnetic wave field strength measurement, mobile phone base station antenna radiation power density measurement, spy camera/wireless bug finder, wireless communication applications, wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) detection/installation, cellular/cordless phone radiation safety level, microwave oven leakage detection, and personal living environment EMF safety.

How to tell where the measurements are coming from?

When XYZ is displayed on the meter it is showing the whole area around you. To change it to a specific direction hit the XYZ/MEM/Down button. The Y different is to the left of you, the Z direction is straight ahead of you, and the X direction is to the right of you.
