The ED98QPro5G Quad-mode meter has a frequency range from 100 MHz to 8 GHz. In addition, it also measures low frequency Magnetic Fields ranging from 50 Hz to 10 kHz, low frequency Electric Fields ranging from 50 Hz to 50 kHz and Light Flicker from 400-700THz of visual light. This meter helps homeowners and business owners evaluate EMF exposure and LED light flicker issues in their environment.

The built-in Frequency counter supports all 5G mobile frequency bands, with 5G signal frequency indicator. ED98QPro5G Quad-mode meter can be used as a detector for testing the famous HB100 10.525GHz Microwave motion sensor module which is used for LED light on-off control. The meter is able to detect the signal frequency up to 11GHz with reduced sensitivity.

Personal Wellness Monitoring

The cornet emf meter is a useful tool for monitoring electromagnetic radiation in your environment, helping you assess exposure from devices like Cell tower, smartphones and Wi-Fi routers. By regularly checking EMF levels, you can take steps to reduce exposure, promoting a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

Measuring High Frequency and RF EMF

High-frequency and RF (Radio Frequency) sources, such as cell towers, Wi-Fi routers, and microwave ovens, emit electromagnetic fields (EMF) that are increasingly present in our daily lives. These sources operate at higher frequencies, which can penetrate various materials and affect human tissues. Monitoring the EMF levels from these high-frequency and RF sources is important for those concerned about potential health risks, such as headaches, sleep disturbances, or long-term exposure effects. By understanding and managing the EMF emitted by these sources, individuals can make informed decisions about their environment, potentially reducing exposure and promoting overall wellness.

EMF Magentic and Electric Fields

Low-frequency EMF sources, such as power lines, electrical wiring, and household appliances like refrigerators and washing machines, generate electromagnetic fields that are present in most indoor environments. These low-frequency fields can penetrate walls and floors, potentially affecting the living spaces around them. While the health impacts of low-frequency EMF exposure are still being studied, some individuals may experience symptoms like fatigue, headaches, or stress when exposed for extended periods. By using an EMF meter, you can measure the levels of low-frequency EMF in your home or workplace and take steps to reduce exposure, such as rearranging furniture, increasing distance from sources, or using EMF-shielding materials, to create a healthier living environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you turn on the sound function?

After turning on the meter, simply press the LIGHT button to activate the sound function. Please note that keeping the sound off along with the light, will conserve battery power.

Why does the e-field reading increase when the USB cable is attached to the PC for datalogging?

The long wire of the USB cable is coupling the E-field noise signal from the other side of the cable (or the signal induced from on air noise along the cable to the meter.

The E-field is very sensitive to objects nearby especially the metal wires so keep the cable as short as possible. In professional applications a optical fiber is used to avoid the interference caused by metal cables.

How To use the Cornet ED 98 EMF Meter:

  • Power On: Turn on the device by pressing the power button. The meter will start displaying readings immediately.

  • Select Measurement Mode: The Cornet ED 98 can measure different types of electromagnetic fields, including electric fields (V/m), magnetic fields (mG), and RF radiation (µW/m²). Use the mode button to switch between these options.

  • Hold Steady: Hold the device steady at the location where you want to measure EMF levels. For accurate readings, avoid moving the meter excessively.

  • Read the Display: The meter will display the EMF levels on the screen. Pay attention to the different indicators for each type of measurement.

  • Interpret the Results: Compare the readings to known safety standards to determine if the EMF levels are within safe limits.

  • Power Off: After taking your measurements, turn off the meter to save battery life.

What do the different color LED indicators mean on the Cornet ED98 EMF Meter?

The Cornet ED98 EMF Meter features LED indicators that change color based on the intensity of the electromagnetic fields being measured:

  • Green Light: Indicates low EMF levels, generally considered safe based on common safety guidelines.
  • Yellow Light: Indicates moderate EMF levels. While typically still within safe limits, prolonged exposure should be minimized.
  • Red Light: Indicates high EMF levels that may be of concern. It’s recommended to reduce exposure in areas where the red light is consistently active.

How can I measure LED light flicker in homes and work environments using the Cornet ED98 QPro5G?

To measure LED light flicker with the Cornet ED98 QPro5G:

  1. Set the Meter to the Correct Mode: Ensure your Cornet ED98 QPro5G is in the appropriate mode to detect fluctuations in light intensity. The device is sensitive enough to detect variations in electromagnetic fields that can correlate with LED flicker.

  2. Position the Meter Near the Light Source: Hold the device close to the LED light source you want to measure. Be sure to position it steadily to capture consistent readings.

  3. Observe the Readings: The Cornet ED98 QPro5G will display fluctuations that indicate the presence and intensity of light flicker. You may notice rapid changes in the readings, which correspond to the flicker frequency.

  4. Interpret the Results: Higher fluctuations in the readings can indicate more severe flickering, which can be disruptive or harmful, especially in work environments where consistent lighting is critical.

  5. Compare with Standards: Refer to health and safety guidelines to determine if the detected flicker levels are within acceptable limits. High levels of flicker can cause eye strain, headaches, and other discomforts.

Useful to detect and quantify EMF

I have mild electromagnetic sensitivity. I found this product mentioned by an EMF professional who was showing off their products and then showed this product saying, "But when I travel and I don't have these other (very expensive) devices with me, this is my 'go to' device."Helpful to see how much ambient EMF we have in the community, how much EMF certain devices in our home emit whether turned off or on, and how much EMF we have in the sleeping area.I tend to use it more for checking out a new area than I do for day to day changes in my home, unless I have made some change. I wish I had had it with me the time we parked the RV under a cell tower for a night.
