RFID Loss Prevention & Retail Theft Prevention

RFID shielding materials are used in retail environments to control the transmission of radiofrequency (RF) signals between designated areas. Applications include retail stockrooms, inventory storage areas, warehouses, fitting rooms and other spaces where RFID signal containment is required.

RF shielding paint can be applied to walls and other compatible building surfaces to reduce RF and RFID signal transmission through the building envelope. In RFID loss prevention and retail security applications, the objective is to establish a defined RF boundary that limits communication between RFID tags and readers located on opposite sides of the shielded area.

A complete RFID shielding system may include RF shielding paint, conductive fabrics, window films and other RF attenuation materials. Walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, penetrations and adjoining construction should be evaluated, as untreated openings can affect overall shielding performance.

These systems are suitable for commercial RFID inventory control, retail theft prevention, loss prevention, stockroom RFID shielding and other applications requiring controlled RF signal propagation.
