Cell Towers & 5G

Cell towers and 5G antennas emit powerful RF radiation that can penetrate your home through exterior walls, windows, and roofs — even from hundreds of metres away. It is recommended to detect first with the LATNEX® AF-5000 to identify signal direction and strength before applying shielding.

If a nearby tower faces your property, focus protection on the wall and openings directly in line with it. In most cases, shielding just the facing wall and window provides substantial reduction as the signal from the cell tower is directional.

Apply two coats of RF-IE50 shielding paint to the wall, then ground it properly using a grounding set. For openings, cover windows with Silverloom Fabric or high-attenuation WOREMOR® WF50 Window Film SafeView to block external signals while maintaining visibility and light.

There are two main approaches to reducing tower exposure indoors:

1. Shield the room itself — paint and ground the exterior wall, and use conductive window coverings.

2. Shield your personal area — create a protected space using a Silverloom Canopy and Canopy Floor Mat around your bed. This provides a highly effective personal barrier, blocking signals from entering the canopy and offering strong nighttime protection.

Because cell towers and 5G antennas are directional, it’s often unnecessary to shield the entire home — the most cost-effective solution targets the side facing the tower. For upper floors or roof exposure, you can add conductive mesh or fabric layers under roofing or behind curtains for enhanced attenuation.

Continue to measure after installation to confirm full coverage and locate any remaining high-exposure areas.
